Guidelines for Human-AI Interaction

Eighteen guidelines for helping people understand, use, correct and remain in control of AI-supported interactions.

What it contributes

Organises guidance across initial interaction, regular use, failures and changes over time. The authors evaluate the guidelines through multiple rounds, including work with 49 practitioners on 20 AI-infused products.

Read with care

These are broadly applicable interaction guidelines. Following them is not evidence that a companion system is safe, effective or legally compliant.

Why it belongs here

A practical bridge between understanding the research and making concrete interface decisions.
